WHO WOULD I BE IF I WERE NOT AFRAID?

Today marks day 2 into 2017 and I’ve already gone back on my word about not drinking soda at all this year lol. When I walked out on the beach and saw a beautiful glass bottle of Coke my lil knees got weak lol. I mentioned how bad I wanted one but how I needed to show some discipline and not try it because I was only 2 days into the new year and I promised myself, blah, blah, blah. In the mist of me ranting Keri and Jill decided to let me know that it was Mexican coke made with real cane sugar or some shit and not high fructose corn syrup. Again…. my knees got weak. Honestly…the only reason I wanted to ditch soda was because of the damn HFCS, so of course I ordered a damn coke smh. When the waitress brought it over and sat it in front of me Ethiopia gave me the most disappointing look and speech ever lol. I felt terrible…& still drank the damn coke lol…. but couldn’t even drink more than two sips because of the guilt. Which sucked because I ended up watching Keri and my friend Casey drink the rest of the damn coke.

Anywho….. considering the fact that Im still on vacation andddddd there was no HFCS in it…. I might be able to wake up tomorrow guilt free!

Now on to the rest of my amazing day.

After the coke incident our group experience a Mayan cleansing ritual that has literally shifted something in all of us and bonded us even closer….. the Mayan Temazcal.

The temazcal (or sweatlodge) was traditionally used by the Mayan culture to purify the body, mind, and spirit to reach a deep connection with Mother Earth.   They would enter the temazcal for days at a time in search of the answers within themselves, exiting the ritual as a newly profound being.  Laboring women also enter the temazcal to birth their babies using the heat, aromatherapy, and chantings as a guide in bringing a new life into the world.  In general, the temazcal was viewed by the Mayans as the womb of Mother Earth. The temazcal experience is unique to each participant.  It is said to release emotions, creativity, toxins physical, emotional and spiritually.

Now…. because of the impact this ceremony had on me I’ve decided that I want to do a separate in depth post about the experience and the shift I feel from it already.

After the ceremony we went to go have an amazing dinner with friends at a nearby resort. The food, the company, and the conversation was impeccable! I might even write a yelp review about the place lol. I love the fact that I’ve been so caught up in the present moment and truly enjoying the people I am with I haven’t really picked up my phone much….which means I haven’t really taken any pictures of this shit…which sucks… because I really want to share with you guys all of the beautiful things that have been inspiring me while in Mexico.

I think tomorrow is gonna be picture day for me! I can’t leave this place without shooting here and capturing all this beauty.

Until tomorrow!

Peace
